Bradfield pulls one back

Enrique Bradfield Jr. had some week defensively. This home run robbery for Double-A Chesapeake came the night before he was officially presented with his 2024 Gold Glove. The O's No. 3 prospect raced to the wall and jumped to pull back a homer. A few days later, Bradfield took away extra bases again with another diving catch.

Ketchup gets up

Based on this catch by outfielder Caleb Ketchup, it seems Double-A Rocket City was able to capture some magic in their Harry Potter jerseys. The 23-year-old looked like he might have gotten turned around on this screaming liner, but he recovered with an incredible leaping catch on the warning track.

Wetherholt's slick pick

JJ Wetherholt is a natural shortstop who has just begun to play more at second base at the pro level. The top Cardinals prospect made this diving stop on a very difficult play up the middle. Wetherholt smothered this well-struck chopper with the backhand and got the out at first, saving a run for Double-A Springfield in the process.

Walton's wild catch

In his nine professional seasons, Donovan Walton has mainly played shortstop or second base. As he's evolved into a veteran utility man for Triple-A Syracuse, the 31-year-old is beginning to play more outfield. So far, he's played just 21 professional games in left. But he seems to be getting the hang of it with this incredible diving play.

Vaquero to the rescue

Cristhian Vaquero has earned a reputation as an excellent center fielder. The Nats' No. 24 prospect made this difficult grab for Single-A Fredericksburg with a full extension dive toward the gap. Defensive excellence had become expected from Vaquero. Just four days prior, he hosed a runner at the plate for the game's final out.

2025 Premier Plays Winners

Baker's fearless catch - Week 1

Luis Guillorme has to be wondering what he did to Dru Baker. The Triple-A Durham right fielder showed no fear on this incredible grab, crashing into the fence after running a long way to track the fly ball. Guillorme, a brilliant defender in his own right, was robbed again by Baker two nights later on a diving catch in left.

The Great Wall of Eli - Week 2

With two incredible catches in a three-day span, Eli Serrano III became well acquainted with the left field wall at High-A Brooklyn's Maimonides Park. First was this leaping grab that sent the Mets No. 23 prospect crashing hard into the padding. Just two games later, he took away extra bases again in nearly the same spot.

Franklin defies gravity - Week 3

Blink and you might not have seen this catch by Christian Franklin. The Triple-A Iowa left fielder flashed toward the line and had the ball in his glove so quick, you might have missed the part where the No. 25 Cubs prospect was in a full-extension dive, a couple feet off the ground in order to haul in the liner.

Stovall's tough diving play - Week 4

Hunter Stovall has made a lot of nice plays throughout his seven professional seasons, mostly as a second or third baseman. This diving stop at short for Double-A Montgomery counts among his best. Stovall stifled the grounder in the hole with a dive and made an on-target throw from his knees across the diamond for the brilliant out.

Jones family business - Week 5

Major League bloodlines abound! Druw Jones' father, Andruw Jones, won 10 Gold Gloves in 17 big league seasons. And the D-backs No. 7 prospect is building an outfield highlight reel reminiscent of his father's defensive exploits. This leaping catch at the center field wall for High-A Hillsboro will certainly count among his best.

Peters does it again - Week 6

The boys from Triple-A Durham played some impressive defense this week. Just two weeks removed from a ridiculous home run robbery, Tristan Peters made another incredible catch. This time, he tracked a fly ball to the gap in right and went into a full extension dive to make the play just before the ball landed on the warning track.

Matthews floats into an out - Week 7

New Zealand native Jason Matthews is one stop away from being the first Maori Major Leaguer, and plays like this might just continue to propel him to the next level. Playing second base for Triple-A Charlotte, Matthews tracks a blooper into short center field and seems to levitate during a full-extension dive to complete the play.

Nin's over-the-shoulder grab - Week 8

Single-A Visalia second baseman Yerald Nin was just three years old when the club was last known as the Oaks. But while wearing green Oaks throwbacks, the 19-year-old made a catch for the ages. Nin ranged back on a blooper and made an over-the-shoulder, sliding grab in short center field, then got up and fired to first for a double play.
